Master Shipyard Private Limited ("MSPL") is a ship-building company located at Edakochi, in the Ernakulam District of Kerala, famous for its traditional ship building and repairing legacy. Since its establishment in 2004, MSPL is one of India's premier builders of barges, passenger vessels, yachts and seagoing & inland vessels. The Shipyard, Dock and Workshop area is spread over an area of about an acre of land. The company has so far successfully built and launched 8 barges. The yard is equipped to construct vessels up to 3500 DWT.
LOTS-India has thedistinct advantage of having its sister company Master Shipyard Private Limited (MSPL), co-located at Cochin. MSPL brings with itself the expertise of ship-building, ship repair and shipyard level of fabrication and on-site assistance. MSPL was established during the year 2004 as a ship repair and ship building Yard and has since then delivered vessels like oil tankers, pusher tugs, dry cargo barges, LCT, spud barges etc., for coastal and inland navigation. In addition, MSPL also undertakes Class dry-dock inspection and services.
Apart from ship-building, MSPL also does dry-docking, steel renewals and main and auxiliary engine repair services for vessels up to 80 metres in length and 16 meters in beam. MSPL is fully equipped to carry out floating repairs for the vessels of all kinds. With a state-of-the-art fabrication shop with advanced welding and cutting equipment, comprehensive material handling equipment and generator back-up for the round-the-clock operations, MSPL is committed to providing quality services to its deserving clientele. Master Shipyard Private Limited has built and delivered numerous self-propelled inland dry cargo barges of size 400-1600 DWT under Class for various clients. MSPL has also built several self-propelled inland tanker barges of size 200-550 DWT under Class, fit for carrying Furnace Oil, Phosphoric Acid, etc. A sailing yacht based on VAN DE STADT design and Class was built in India for the first time at MSPL. Multi-utility Landing Crafts (LCTs) which can be used as landing craft, pushr tug or container carrier, have also been manufactured by MSPL. Construction of dumb barges is another specialty area of the Company. M.B. Suvan-1 (1600 DWT dry cargo barge), T.S.B. Grace (550 DWT tanker barge), M.B. Vembanad Tradition (300 DWT tanker barge), M.B. Gazraaj (500 DWT tanker barge), D.B. Tir (800 DWT dumb barge), Suryani VDS-34 (Van De Stadt 34 yacht), Tristar Nile (28M pusher tug), D.B. Flash (jack-up barge), are all but a few in the prestigious products gallery of Master Shipyard.
