Roll-On/Roll-Off (RORO) vessels have built in ramps which are designed to carry truck trailers that are "rolled on" and "rolled off" the vessel when in terminal.
The Cochin Port Trust proposed to establish a Container Freight Station at Willingdon Island once the IGTL shifts its operation to ICTT, Vallarpadom. LOTS SHIPPING operates RORO ferry service to and from Willingdon & Bolghatty islands.

As a solution to the above the CoPT and Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) in a joint venture created the infrastructure required at Willingdon and Bolgatty Islands for the operation of RO RO / LO LO vessels. Offers were invited for the RO RO/ LO LO operations for the movement of containers between Willingdon and Bolgatty Islands. The entire operations will be supervised jointly by CoPT and IWAI. LOTS Shipping has been awarded the contract for the operation of ‘ROLL ON – ROLL OFF’ ferry service between the Willingdon & Bolghatty islands by the Cochin Port Trust for a period of 10 years.

About Lots Bridge

• Can carry over 500 TEU’s in a day (24 * 7).
• Can carry nearly 40 TEU’s in one round voyage.
• Voyage time is 20 minutes one way and one return trip will be completed in 45 minutes.
• Can carry any lawful general cargo between Willingdon & Bolghatty Islands.
• Can offer dedicated voyages on daily basis on the “LOTS BRIDGE “..
• Can offer daily slots on specific voyages on the “LOTS BRIDGE “ .
